Casidy R. Newcomer
Casidy Newcomer received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Florida Atlanta University in Boca Raton, Florida in 2017 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2020. Casidy graduated in the top 15% of her class with Cum Laude honors, and was consistently named to the Dean’s honor list. She also received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship each year, and was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.
While at South Texas, Casidy excelled in the school’s nationally renowned Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution program, and competed in multiple Moot Court, Negotiation, and Mediation tournaments across the country. In November of 2019, she argued novel entertainment issues at Pepperdine University’s 20th Annual National Entertainment Law Moot Court competition in Malibu, California, and helped the school earn its 133rd National Advocacy Championship.
In recognition of her strong advocacy, Casidy received the Dean’s Student Advocacy Service Award and was inducted into the prestigious Order of Barristers – a national honorary society for law students who demonstrate extraordinary skills in the courtroom. Casidy remains actively involved in the development and growth of South Texas’ Advocacy Program, and spends her free time coaching advocates to help pass on the invaluable skills that she gained from the alumni that coached her throughout her time in the program.
Casidy joined Christian Attar as a law clerk in August of 2019, and was named an associate upon receiving her JD in May of 2020. Casidy’s practice focuses primarily on complex business disputes, commercial litigation, and deceptive trade practices. Casidy also handles several pro bono matters and is passionate about giving back to her community. Prior to joining Christian Attar, Casidy gained valuable legal experience at a boutique civil litigation firm where she participated in probate litigation, real estate transactions, and complex business mediations.
Casidy was born in the small town of Crystal River, Florida and moved to Houston, Texas in 2017. In her free time, Casidy enjoys exploring Houston with her dog, traveling, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
